Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of talking therapy, combining the use of hypnosis with psychotherapy.  This type of therapy employs the best elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro- Linguistic Programming ( NLP) to help you to become more confident, enthusiastic and excited about your life and become the best version of you. Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention, and, even though it is 100% natural and normal, it remains one of the most fascinating phenomena of the human mind. Our ability to enter this unique state of consciousness opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, and positive change. When we enter into the absorbed state of hypnosis, we can use our thoughts, talents and experiences in ways not usually available to us. We can develop the abilities that enable desired changes in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours to be possible. 

About Me

My name is Sarah and I am a mother to 5 children. I have lived in the Bridgend area for most of my life and have had my fair share of difficulties throughout my fifty years.  I lost my dad at the tender age of 16 and my first husband at the age of 42.  I have been through various stressful and emotional times, but although difficult times, I am a resilient and positive person who believes that life is too short to not enjoy life and make the most of every minute.  

20 years ago I started working with children and young people within the care system, assisting them with their education.  During this time I qualified as a Thrive Approach Practitioner, working therapeutically with children and young people 

After being made redundant, I started my own business working as an independent Thrive Practitioner and Trained as a trainer of the approach, delivering training to primary and secondary school staff to work with children and young people who are struggling.  I also became a foster carer for a few years too.

Fast forward to 2022, I remarried and we had a fabulous wedding with friends and family around us.

With regard to my career, having worked with children for so many years I wanted to reach out in other ways to adults as well, using my knowledge of neuroscience and the workings of the mind.  I was fascinated by the way that hypnosis is able to change the way our brain processes information and alongside psychotherapy is able to change our mindset to help so many people with such a varied list of problems. Therefore after a lot of research, I discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and was really interested in how the focus is on finding solutions rather than focusing on the past.  So I trained as a Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist with the Clifton Practice, the renowned training school in Bristol and qualified with a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

As part of my continuing professional development (CPD) I have also trained in Walking Therapy, which allows me to get out in nature with my clients.

I have also completed continuing professional development (CPD) focused on menopause, which enables me to better assist women experiencing menopausal symptoms.

As part of my continuing professional development (CPD) I am also qualifed to deliver the Hypno Gastric Band program which is a hypnosis-based weight loss technique that creates the sensation of a gastric band around the stomach, leading to feelings of fullness with smaller portions and reduced appetite - without the surgery.

Where am I?

I live in Brynamman, Ammanford but I offer an online service. These take place in the comfort of your own home via Google Meet. (I also offer face-to-face appointments at a local venue and home visits dependent on location).

Online therapy enables you to engage with Sarah in a familiar environment.  being at home can help you feel more relaxed and open during sessions.  Sarah tailors each session to your unique needs, helping you navigate challenges and achieve your personal goals.

Walking Therapy

Walk and talk with me, in a guided walking therapy session and discover a holistic approach to improving your mental and physical well-being.

Solution Focused Walking Therapy encourages you to envision your desired future and the steps you need to reach it.  Focusing on helping you to identify and achieve specific, realistic goals.

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.  The physical act of walking and the natural surroundings can lower cortisol levels, helping you to feel more relaxed and less stressed.

How does online therapy work?

Once you have made contact with me, we will schedule your free initial consultation at a time that works for you.  You will then receive a link via email. At the time of your session, all you need to do is click on the link.  You will experience the same level  of care and attention as in-person therapy, tailored to your individual journey.

Choose a quiet, private place where you feel comfortable and won't be interrupted.  This helps create a safe and open environment for your session.  Ensure your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) has a stable internet connection.  If you are feeling a little worried going online, it may be helpful for you to click on the link anytime before your appointment, this will show you how easy it is.  Any problems, Sarah is at the end of the phone to talk you through it

Group Wellness Walks

A group wellness walk is a guided outdoor activity where participants walk together in a scenic natural setting. The walk is designed to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through gentle exercise, social interaction, and immersion in nature.

These guided sessions are professional led and solution focused.  By being in a natural setting we are able to utilise the calming effects of nature to enhance well-being.

Individual Booking: Sign up as an individual and be placed on a list. The session will commence once the minimum number of participants is reached.

Group Booking: Book as a complete group of 5 to 10 participants.

Incorporating  hypnotherapy, wellness walks, and/or therapy walks into your workplace wellness program can significantly enhance the overall well-being of employees. Home Visits

I am now able to offer  hypnotherapy services at a location convenient for the client, such as their home, workplace, or another agreed-upon venue. This approach offers flexibility and convenience, making it easier for individuals to incorporate hypnotherapy into their busy schedule. This offers a flexible and convenient option for individuals seeking to improve their mental and physical well-being through hypnotherapy, but prefer face to face rather than an online service.
